WBL Research Data Repository

To align with standard research lab practices, the WBL now asks that all de-identified data be shared to our repository.

Repository Information

The Wharton Behavioral Lab is developing a database repository to preserve and archive research data for long-term use.

Because this repository has been approved by the IRB, individual researchers will not need to submit separate IRB requests for their projects. Only de-identified data will be stored in the repository, which is not considered “human subjects research” and may therefore be shared with individuals outside the designated study personnel. To ensure transparency, all future consent forms should include the following statement: “De-identified data will be stored in the Wharton Behavioral Lab research data repository.”

The WBL staff will review consent forms and confirm that the above statement is included; however, only Robert Botto (WBL IT Director) will have access to the repository itself.

For more information on the Penn IRB, please head to our IRB information page.
